Sunday 7 February

This ride is 118 miles, so a full day. We begin at The Harvester at 09:30, stopping for fuel at the Esso station, London Road, Chipping Norton. The first coffee stop is at Wyatt Farm Shop, Chipping Norton, with lunch at the National Herb Centre, Banbury Rd, Warmington.

A second Coffee stop will be at the Evesham Country Park (fuel is also available there). I plan to finish at the Country Park, but I will return via Gupshill Manor if folks want a lead home.

Usual IAM rules apply: highway code including posted speed limits to be obeyed please. I will be using the drop-off marker system throughout, and I will expect every junction to be marked. Remember to ride your own ride. Overtaking is permitted within the group, but remember to be courteous when you do, and remember also that you will likely just end up marking more junctions!

CCAM will be in attendance with our usual format, a table of wares with happy/smiley volunteers (CCAM regalia please) portraying the club's virtues to all that are prepared to listen. This offers us the opportunity of possible new members which is vital to our club's growth, and of course exposure to the public...good ennit! There is also the usual offers to all on the day from Cotswold, with a free BBQ to satisfy the hungry, so what are you waiting for!!! Please let Graham know if you can do a couple of hours either on the Saturday or the Sunday...ASAP!!!!!

Finally funds raised for CCAM's chosen charity will be presented to them at their Base. The morning will revolve around a short ride to the station, present the cheque to their representative to include a lovely club Photo of all attendees, Helicopter and bikes ...hopefully...and a further run for refreshments before the return home.

Final details are yet to be ironed out, but what we do need ASAP - LIKE NOW - is a maximum number of 10 volunteers to complete this team effort/line up. So on a 'first come first served' basis PLEASE LET GRAHAM KNOW. This will be a club privilege and honour...so do it. ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST BE WEARING CCAM REGALIA FOR THE OCCASION (PLEASE).

This is a full day's ride of approximately 120 miles, taking in three bridges crossing the old lady Thames. The first stop after ~60 Miles for coffee and petrol at the BP Garage near Faringdon. Lunch stop will be at Burford Garden Centre https://www.burford.co.uk/about-us/burford-cafe/. We'll finish after a meandering route though picturesque villages at the AV8 café. The roads may be muddy but paved, and beware of pheasants!

Scenic route to Bridgnorth, Shifnal, Cosford, approx. 75 miles. Entry to the museum free. Depart around 3:00 pm for shorter run home via A442 Kidderminster.

The plan is to depart Costa (St Oswalds Retail park) at 08:30, with a Little Chef stop at ~1:50 mark for Tea/Brekky, then on to the museum. Entrance fee is £13. We'll spend a couple of hours there - there should be an arena display at 1 pm. Then depart for home with another Little Chef stop on the return leg for tea. Depending on time at the museum, should be back to Glos via Ciren for around 18:00/18:30.

  • Cross country route to breakfast stop at Devizes. (48 miles)
  • Route over Salisbury Plain and ZigZag Hill to next stop for fuel in Verwood and drop in to Crescent Suzuki shop.( 56 miles)
  • Continue to Sammy Miller museum. (15 miles) Arrive approx. 12.00pm. Tea room serving light lunches on site.
  • Spend afternoon at museum. (Entry fee £7.50)
  • Depart museum at approx. 3.30pm for return run.
  • Coffee stop at Barge Inn, Honeystreet. (53 miles)
  • Continue on to Cirencester for final stop at approx 6.45pm, then separation for home.

Total Mileage - 235 miles.

  • Breakfast Stop in Abergavenny via cross country route...of course (48 miles)
  • Brecon Beacons and over Black mountain with more of the same, fuel stop in Cross Hands. (64 miles)
  • Pendine Sands for lunch and museum visit, arriving at ~12:30. (28 miles)
  • Depart Pendine 1.30pm. Stop for coffee break at Sennybridge. (55 miles)
  • Ross Services for a break before the final split for home, arriving at approximately 4.45pm. (52 miles)

Total mileage ~250 miles.

Great value with regards to 'smiles per miles'.....

3 course Festive Fayre approx £25 per head. We have booked a section of 50 in the main restaurant for this end of year chill, and its the usual first-come-first-served with a deposit of £10.00 non refundable. It promises to be a really good night as we know the food will be good.
