Event Time: 19:30-22:00, What: Smiths Racing at SAM clubnight (map)
If you follow bike racing, you will be aware that Smiths of Gloucester have had a very successful 2017 season. Peter Hickman finished 4th in the British Superbikes championship. At the Isle of Man TT, Peter finished 2nd on his Smiths BMW in the Superbike event, 2nd in the Superstock and 2nd in the Senior event.

This made him the fastest ever newcomer to the TT, and with a total of 5 podium finishes out of 5 entries he won the Joey Dunlop Trophy.

Both CCAM and SAM have approached Smiths of Gloucester to see if they would come along to a clubnight during the closed season and give a talk. I am delighted to advise that they have agreed to attend the SAM clubnight on Tuesday 9th January, held at Walls Club, Hammond Way, Barnwood, Gloucester GL4 3HG, starting at 7.30pm. It promises to be an interesting evening and all members of CCAM are invited along.

Monday 18 June
Event What: Provisional - CCAM Private track day at Pembrey (map)
Once again the committee is looking at the possibility of hiring Pembrey Circuit in South Wales to host a Private Track Day experience for CCAM members. Those who went along last time (in 2014) will recall what a good day we had.

We have a provisional reservation for Monday 18th June. As with everything, the cost has gone up since the last time, to make it viable we need a minimum of 40 riders at a cost of £120 each. We intend to divide the number into three groups, 12 to 14 per group. For convenience the groups would be designated experienced, intermediate and cautious, not for the purposes of competition but so that all riders can feel comfortable with those around them on track. Each group will run in 20 minute sessions throughout the day. The fee for the day is inclusive of a mid-day meal in the circuit's catering venue.

If you are interested and would like to be included in the group please contact the CCAM Committee. If we get sufficient interest we will take up the offer and would then ask you to confirm and also to pay a deposit to secure your place. If we fall short on numbers then we will offer places to IAM members from our neighbouring group SAM.
